The Palasota Drive Phase I Reconstruction Project is scheduled to begin the week of Jan. 18, 2021.
Bridge reconstruction at Cottonwood Branch (West of Bridge Meadow) and at Tributary 5 (West of Groesbeck) will prevent East – West through traffic between West 28th Street and Beck; and between Beck and Groesbeck. Local traffic will be allowed between the two creek crossings on Palasota Drive. Installation of additional drainage, water, sanitary, street and sidewalk improvements will result in single lane closures along this route as well.
This project is a capital improvement project that is part of the approved FY2020-FY2024 Capital Improvement Program.
This project includes construction of new water, sanitary, drainage, road and sidewalks along Palasota Drive from the Cottonwood Branch Creek @ Anson Jones Elementary School through the Groesbeck / Palasota intersection. These improvements will replace aging infrastructure and create a safer environment for vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians. This project will be completed in several phases with traffic control being revised and posted for each phase.
Eastbound and Westbound through traffic on Palasota Drive will be detoured via Groesbeck, Trant, Beck, Commerce, West 28th Street. Local traffic will be allowed between Beck and both creek crossings. Phase I of the project is expected to last until the summer of 2021. Updates will be posted as construction progresses.
