In an effort to meet community needs, the Bryan Police Department formed a Mental Health Unit in April 2021 comprised of three officers who have received specific training on how to help people who may be experiencing a mental health crisis.
The Bryan Fire Department wants to know what your priorities are for the next five years. Members of the public are invited to participate in one of two community meetings as part of the BFD’s strategic planning process.
Meetings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the following locations:
- July 15, 2021 at Sam Rayburn Middle School, 1048 N. Earl Rudder Freeway
- July 22, 2021 at Neal Recreation Center, 600 N. Randolph Ave.
Meetings will include presentations from Bryan Fire Chief Richard Giusti and others, an interactive feedback session and a survey for participants. The information gathered at these meetings will be used to help develop BFD’s Five-Year Strategic Plan.
