“We exist because of the community and the people that live here, and we want to make sure we’re being diligent about what we’re providing and what people are looking for,” said Library System Director Bea Saba.
The survey asks about library usage, access, services, priorities and areas for improvements. Even residents who do not currently utilize library services are encouraged to participate.
“Maybe they’re looking for something that we don’t have, and we want to hear about that,” Saba said. “We’re trying to identify priorities, guide decisions and see where there might be gaps in our services.”
Additional opportunities for community feedback, including in-person meetings, will be announced at a later date. The strategic plan is expected to be finalized by the end of the summer and will guide the library system through 2031.
“Communities change,” Saba said. “We want to remain relevant in the future, so it’s important that we have a plan in place to make sure we’re using our resources effectively.”
