City of Bryan & Bryan Texas Utilities Sponsoring Free Community Fireworks Show on July 3
The City of Bryan and Bryan Texas Utilities are proud to announce a free fireworks show for the community, as part of nationwide celebrations of America’s 250th birthday. The show will be held at Travis Major Field at the conclusion of the Bryan Yard Dogs game on Friday, July 3, and will be visible from Travis Bryan Midtown Park and surrounding areas.
“The Fourth of July is a memorable, patriotic tradition like no other,” said Bryan Mayor Bobby Gutierrez. “Bringing the city together to enjoy fireworks is a perfect example of the community spirit we’re building in Bryan and at Travis Bryan Midtown Park.”
On Friday, July 3, the Yard Dogs will host the Nacogdoches Niners for the start of a holiday weekend homestand. First pitch is at 6:05 p.m., with a 10-minute fireworks show taking place after the game ends. Ticketholders are invited to stay in their seats to enjoy the show, while those who do not attend the game can gather in Midtown Park. Parking is available at Legends Event Center, the gravel lot across from Legends, and next to the Midtown Legacy Park playground site.
“BTU is thrilled to support this free show for the community to enjoy,” said BTU Interim General Manager Doug Lyles. “Fireworks are an important part of Fourth of July celebrations, and we’re eager to put on a memorable show to help Bryan celebrate.”
Before the game, Bryan City Manager Andrew Nelson will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. The Yard Dogs are also planning a variety of holiday weekend activities, with more details to be announced soon.
For several years, the City of Bryan supported a popular fireworks show at Texas A&M-RELLIS. While that fireworks show isn’t continuing this year, the City of Bryan is honored to continue its legacy.
“The Brazos Valley has a rich history of fireworks shows, from the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library to the RELLIS campus and beyond,” Gutierrez said. “We thank those who sacrifice to preserve our freedom to keep celebrations like this going each year.”
