City of Bryan Celebrating Future of Legends Event Center & Travis Fields
Two of the City of Bryan’s standout facilities in Travis Bryan Midtown Park – Legends Event Center and Travis Fields – are primed for further success into the 2030s after action by Bryan City Council at the Sept. 15 Special Meeting.
The City Council approved an amendment to the Legends Event Center management agreement with Sports Facilities Management, LLC (doing business as The Sports Facilities Companies, or SFC), exercising the city’s option to extend the agreement through 2032. The amendment also incorporates Travis Fields into the partnership, following the assignment of the Travis Fields agreement from Rally Cap Investments, LLC to SFC.
“It’s impossible to overstate how vital sports tourism is for our community, promoting both our national reputation and our local quality of life,” said Mayor Bobby Gutierrez. “Bryan residents should be proud of how these facilities bring more business to our hotels, restaurants and stores, supporting jobs and generating sales tax that directly benefits our community. We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with SFC and look forward to many more major tournaments, shows and community events at both facilities.”
Four Years of Sports Tourism Success at Legends Event Center
Strong collaboration between the City of Bryan, Destination Bryan and SFC has led to increasing success at Legends Event Center, a 122,000+ square-foot multipurpose sports and events facility. Legends has helped strengthen Bryan’s profile as a regional and national sports tourism destination.

Legends Event Center and Travis Fields demonstrate what is possible when strong local leadership, thoughtful planning and professional facility management come together,” said Eric Sullivan, Executive VP of SFC. “We’re proud to continue our partnership with the City of Bryan and build on the momentum at both venues through events and programs that serve the community, attract visitors and strengthen the local economy.”
Legends regularly hosts high-profile events, including the Adidas 3SSB Boys Basketball Tournament, NXTPRO Puma National Finals, Under Armour Futures Basketball Tournament and Texas Gun Shows. The facility also serves local residents through youth practices and tournaments, sports leagues, summer camps, Open Gym sessions, community rentals and access to its arcade and esports lounge.
Since opening in December 2022, Legends Event Center has welcomed more than 930,000 visitors. In four years, the facility’s tourism-based events have delivered a total economic impact of more than $108 million, including an expected $40 million this fiscal year.

"The tournaments and events hosted at Legends Event Center bring real economic impact to Bryan. They generate more money for our hotels, restaurants and gas stations, and that keeps circulating through the local economy."
Travis Fields Expands Regional Baseball & Softball Opportunities
Opened in February 2022, Travis Fields was designed to attract regional youth baseball and softball events while being a resource for local teams and Little Leagues. The facility hosts several dozen events annually and recorded more than 68,000 visitors and $14 million in economic impact in Fiscal Year 2025.
“Adding Travis Fields to our partnership with the City of Bryan creates an exciting opportunity to build on the success we’ve had at Legends Event Center,” said Jamie Cox, General Manager of Legends Event Center. “Together, these facilities give us the ability to attract more regional and national events, serve more athletes and families and make an even greater impact in the Bryan community.”
The state-of-the-art complex features three synthetic-turf fields and eight covered batting cages. It hosts regional tournaments organized by groups such as USSSA and ProspectWire, as well as the Bryan-College Station edition of MLB’s Pitch, Hit & Run competition. Travis Fields also supports local teams, youth and adult leagues, car shows and community events. Together with its neighbor, the city-operated and recently renovated Travis Major Field, the facilities are regularly rented together to provide expanded space for tournaments.
About Travis Bryan Midtown Park
Travis Bryan Midtown Park is a world-class recreation destination for residents and visitors, located in the heart of the Midtown neighborhood of Bryan. Formerly a municipal golf course and lake, the 150 acres have been reimagined into a one-of-a-kind athletic, wellness and entertainment complex. Transforming the aging golf course was made possible through Wallace Phillips’ generous donations of The Phillips Event Center and The City Course, assuring long-term sustainable golf in Bryan.
Multiple venues have opened since the park transformation began in 2020, including Legends Event Center, Travis Fields, Topgolf and D-BAT Aggieland. The park also features a green space for large, outdoor events. The park’s boardwalk and final sections of the 12-foot-wide multipurpose trail are expected to open for residents and visitors this fall, finishing a trail that loops the park.
Coming soon: construction is underway on Midtown Legacy Park, a destination playground for all ages and abilities, supported by a generous $2 million donation from The Darwood Foundation, a Doug and Kara French philanthropy. The signature experience is expected to open in late 2026/early 2027, featuring 119 play components, more than 12,000 square feet of shade and enough room for parents and guardians to interact with their children. A variety of accessible components will also allow children with wheelchairs or walkers, or mothers with strollers, to enjoy the playground.
