Stay Active & Connected with Senior Socials

Looking for a fun way to stay active, meet new people, and learn something new? Our Parks and Recreation Department invites ages 55 and older to take part in monthly socials, offering a variety of engaging activities and discussions.

Whether you’re interested in technology, gardening, coffee or just a fun time with music, there’s something for everyone.

Tuesday, Dec. 9: Holiday Craft Day

1-3 p.m., $5 at the door
Neal Recreation Center, 600 N. Randolph Avenue

Tuesday, Jan. 13: Seniors Eating Well Presentation by the Brazos Valley Food Bank

Discover easy, affordable ways to eat well, stay active and support your health. This free class covers nutrition basics using MyPlate recommendations, physical activity guidance for older adults and how to read labels to make informed choices. Attendees will learn how fiber, saturated fat, added sugars and sodium affect chronic disease prevention, and get strategies for eating well on a budget. Participants will leave with practical tips, easy recipes for up to two people and helpful resources for healthy living at any budget.
