Headstones/Monuments
- Headstones may be no larger than fifty inches (50”) per single grave space
- Headstone base must be six inches (6”) thick.
- Monuments taller than three feet (3’) must be secured to base by steel pins.
- Permit must be granted before any work is done that disturbs the surface of the property and/or any monument is set.
- No more than three (3) photographs per headstone.
- Monuments may only be installed by an individual or company that can demonstrate financial responsibility (e.g. bonded, insured).
- Corners, copings, or ledgers must be flush with the grade.
- Fences, borders, walls or other boundaries are generally not permitted due to maintenance issues, but may be permitted in limited circumstances when one or more lots (ten (10) or more spaces) are to be enclosed. In such a case a gate wide enough for a riding mower must be installed.
- No vaults will be permitted due to maintenance issues.
- Only one (1) casket or up to two (2) cremains per space.
Plantings
- Only one (1) tree or shrub is permitted per space.
- Trunk of plant and mulch (if any) must be located within a purchased space
- Permitted trees and shrubs include
- Crepe myrtle
- Rose bush
- Red bud
- Oleander
- Any plantings may be trimmed or removed by the City, without permission or compensation, at City’s discretion.
- No rocks, gravel, pavers, or similar landscaping materials are permitted.
Other Improvements
- Benches must be natural stone (granite, marble, limestone, etc.) or solid metal.
- Benches must be placed on a purchased space.
- No statues or vases are permitted unless part of, and secured to, an approved monument.
- No bird feeders, pinwheels, windmills, wind chimes, or solar lights are permitted.
- No glass, tin cans, rocks, or other loose materials are permitted
