Ongoing Programs

Cardio Dance classes turn your workout into a dance party. Enjoy high-energy line dances and choreographed routines set to upbeat R&B and old-school favorites while getting your heart rate up and your body moving.

Led by a professional instructor, each class delivers a high-energy workout with a variety of step combinations that keep muscles engaged, burns calories and make the workout feel fun rather than forced.

Get ready to step into better health with Walk with a Doc! The City of Bryan Parks and Recreation Department, in collaboration with Baylor Scott & White, invites you to join a walk led by a doctor or health professional each month. It’s a great opportunity to meet new friends while exercising and learning ways to improve your health.

It’s free to participate, but registration is required and a waiver must be completed on-site before the walk begins. All ages are welcome, however those 17 and younger must be with an adult.

Walks are held on a Saturday from 9 - 10 a.m. The schedule is below:

Since its inception in 2005 by cardiologist Dr. David Sabgir, Walk with a Doc has grown into a nationwide movement that creates healthier communities by combining the power of physical activity, health education, social connection and time in nature.

Ongoing Programs Ages 55+

Senior adults are invited to a new weekly game day, with fun games, coffee and a chance to hang out with new and old friends! Games include Jenga, dominoes, cards, Scrabble, Uno, chess, plus a special game day each month.

Looking for a fun way to stay active, meet new people and learn something new? Our Parks and Recreation Department invites ages 55 and older to take part in monthly socials, offering a variety of engaging activities and discussions.

Covered courts are located within Austin’s Colony Park, adjacent to Harvey Mitchell Elementary School. The facility features three lighted tennis courts and 12 lined pickleball courts. Pickleball nets are available for setup. Restrooms are located at the pavilion within walking distance.

A membership is required to access and reserve the facility. Courts are first-come, first-served unless reserved. Membership also provides access to the pickleball courts at Neal Recreation Center during open gym.

Purchase your membership by visiting the Parks and Recreation Office at 1309 E. Martin Luther King Street. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Renewals and reservations can be completed online.

Renew Membership

Open gym hours are designated by sport. Courts are available first-come, first-served. Reservations aren’t accepted.

  • Players are required to form teams from the players who paid for open gym time. 
  • Players are required to call their own fouls
  • Sportsmanship is required at all times; profanity or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.

Pickleball

Three courts are available. Bring your own paddle and pickleballs.

One full court. Basketball provided upon request and must show ID. 

  • Ages: 18+
  • Days: Tuesdays, 6 – 9 p.m.
  • Fee: $5

Volleyball

Two courts and volleyballs are available.

  • Ages: 18+
  • Days: Thursdays, 6 – 9 p.m.
  • Fee: $2 per person
