Summer is nearly here! Explore the City of Bryan Parks and Recreation Department’s summer programs, featuring aquatics, sports leagues, summer camps, special events and more. Whether you're looking for youth activities, adult recreation or programs designed for ages 55 and older, there is something for everyone.

Looking for a summer job? Join our team!

We’re hiring lifeguards and swim instructors, as well as counselors for youth camps. Ages 16 and older are invited to apply. American Red Cross certification courses are available, with a reimbursement opportunity. View our summer job opportunities and apply through the city’s job portal.

Aquatic Programs

Swim Lessons

  • Ages: 6 months +
  • Registration closes day before session date.
  • Session 1: June 1 – 12
  • Session 2: June 15 – 26
  • Session 3: June 29 – July 10 (no lessons July 4)
  • Session 4: July 13 – 24

Junior Lifeguard

  • Ages: 11 – 14
  • Registration closes July 12
  • Session 1: June 1 – 12
  • Session 2: June 15 – 26
  • Session 3: June 29 – July 10 (no class July 4)
  • Session 4: July 13 – 24

American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Courses

  • Ages: 15+
  • Registration closes one week before session date.
  • Variety of three-day sessions from June 5 – 28.

Bryan Barracudas Swim Team

  • Ages: 5 – 18
  • NWAL Summer Season registration closes May 22.
    • Program: May 26 – June 19
  • TAAF Season registration closes Aug. 3
    • Program: June 22 – Aug. 3

Bryan Thunderbolts Track Club

  • Ages: 5 – 18
  • Registration closes May 27
  • Program: June 2 – Aug. 3

Adult & Senior Programs

Walk With a Doc

  • All ages welcome, those under 17 must be with an adult.
  • Register before each walk.
  • Free monthly program: May 2, June 6, July 11, Aug. 8

Senior Socials

  • Ages: 55+
  • Registration is not required.
  • Free monthly program: May 12, June 9, July 14, Aug. 11

Games and Grounds

  • Ages: 55+
  • Registration is not required
  • Free weekly program: Thursdays through Aug. 27 (no events on July 30 or Aug. 6 due to Games of Texas)

Co-Ed Softball League

  • Ages: 18+
  • Registration closes May 29
  • Program: Mondays, June 8 – July 27

Men’s Softball League

  • Ages: 18+
  • Registration closes May 29
  • Program: Tuesdays, June 9 – July 28

Cardio Dance Fitness

  • Ages: 18+
  • No registration; $5 at the door.
  • Weekly program: Tuesdays

Neal Recreation Center Open Gym

  • Ages: 18+
  • Reservations are not accepted.
