Brazos County residents are encouraged to safely dispose of unwanted household hazardous waste and electronics for free at the Twin Oaks Landfill’s collection event on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Texas A&M University Services Building. The facility’s entrance is located on Harvey Road, east of Veterans Park and Athletic Complex.
This is a drive-thru program. Please remain in your vehicle and allow event staff to unload your items.
Held every April and October, this rain-or-shine event helps protect our environment by keeping hazardous materials out of the landfill. Household hazardous waste should never be dumped down drains or placed for regular garbage collection.
Accepted materials include various indoor and outdoor chemicals, cleaning agents, automotive products, electronics, paints, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs and flammable items.
Business-generated waste, household garbage, freon-containing appliances/units, tires, ammunition, 55-gallon drums, medications and sharps/needles/syringes will not be accepted.
