Your Wastewater Fee is Based on Upcoming Water Use
The City of Bryan would like to remind customers that, per city ordinance, your wastewater fee is determined by your water usage for billing cycles that end in December, January and February.
Bryan City Council approves animal ordinance changes
The Bryan City Council approved several changes to the city’s animal ordinances at their meeting on March 8, resulting in updated regulations that better support the community’s needs and bring Bryan in line with new state legislation.
While several of the changes clarify language in the ordinances, two of the changes are aimed at improving the welfare of animals:
- Sale of animals: The sale of dogs and cats at stores in Bryan is now prohibited, unless those animals are sourced from shelters or 501(c)3 animal rescue organizations. The outdoor sale of animals is now prohibited.
- Tethering of animals: Animals now cannot be tethered using a chain. Bryan’s ordinances also state that the animal must have continuous access to food, water and shelter; the tether must be at least 10 feet long or five times the length of the dog; and the tether must weigh less than 1/20th of the animal’s weight.
