Thousands pour into town for Games of Texas July 31-Aug. 3
The 2025 Texas Amateur Athletic Federation’s Summer Games of Texas kicks off Thursday, July 31, and runs through Sunday, Aug. 3, at premier venues across College Station and Bryan.
Looking to make a difference in your community? Join the City of Bryan’s Parks and Recreation Department for the 30th annual Bryan City Cemetery Work Day on Saturday, May 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cemetery is located at 1111 N. Texas Ave.
Volunteers are needed to help clean gravesites and maintain cemetery grounds. You may bring your own hand tools, but power tools are not allowed.
A potluck lunch will be available. Feel free to bring a dish to share.
In addition to the annual event, quarterly cleanups are scheduled for Bryan City Cemetery and Oakwood Cemetery:
During these cleanups, noncompliant items, such as loose objects (e.g., glass, ceramic, statues, decorations) and faded or tattered flowers, whether live or artificial, will be removed in accordance with cemetery ordinances (Sec. 22-5).
Once removed, these items should not be repositioned, as the cemetery sexton reserves the right to remove any items that violate the ordinance.
View more information on cemetery ordinances and regulations here.
These cleanup efforts help preserve the dignity of these resting places.
