The Bryan City Council voted unanimously to appoint Tiffany Thomas as presiding judge of Bryan Municipal Court of Record. She will be sworn in on May 1.

City of Bryan remembers former Bryan Mayor Mark Conlee
The City of Bryan is saddened to report the passing of former Bryan Mayor Mark Conlee. Mr. Conlee passed last night after a lengthy illness.
The various boards, commissions, and committees provide support for their associated city departments, advise staff and make recommendations. Additionally, boards and commissions provide advice and guidance to City Council. Which is why diversity of people and perspectives is so important to the make up of boards and commissions.
“It’s important to have a diverse group of people serving because it’s a reflection of our city. We need people with different points of view, not only to provide advice and guidance to their board, but City Council as well.” Says City Secretary Mary Lynne Stratta. “Wherever your interests, background, or passion lies there’s a place for you.”

Time commitment – Each committee or board meets at different frequencies. Some could meet as much as once a month or as little as once a year.
Qualifications – Qualifications vary from board to board; however, at a minimum, qualifications include a dedication to serving the community and a commitment to active participation on the board, commission, or committee you join. Bryan residency is preferred, but not always required.
How to apply – Visit https://onboard.bryantx.gov/, which will provide access to information about each board and allow you to view current and future vacancies. Once you select a board you’d like to apply to select ‘Apply For Position’ at the top right of the screen. You can also download a printable application and return it to the City Secretary’s Office in the Bryan Municipal Office Building.
