The Bryan City Council appointed Thomas Leeper as the new City Attorney for the City of Bryan at their meeting on Dec. 14, 2021.
MetroNet begins construction in Bryan soon
Bryan residents will soon see construction begin in various portions of the city, as Metronet, Inc. starts to build out their fiber optic network in the community. Network backbone construction will first begin the week of Dec. 6, 2021 near the area of 29th Street and Carter Creek Parkway.
Bryan Fire Department’s Community Paramedic helps connect residents with needed services
For several years, the number of emergency calls to the Bryan Fire Department has steadily increased. While many of those calls were for situations that needed ambulances, a portion of them were from residents who called 911 for situations that didn’t, and the department was seeking solutions to keep up with the call volume.
Stephanie Sale, Jim Singleton honored with 2021 Downtown Impact Award
Longtime Downtown Bryan supporters Stephanie Sale and Jim Singleton have been instrumental in much of the area’s redevelopment efforts. Their investment in multiple aspects of Downtown has showed that downtown revitalization is alive and well in Bryan. That’s why Sale and Singleton were honored with the 2021 Downtown Impact Award.
Help Bryan win the Mayor’s Ring Off for the 15th year
Bryan Mayor Andrew Nelson will once again face off against College Station Mayor Karl Mooney in the Salvation Army’s annual Mayor’s Ring Off – a friendly competition to raise money to help provide essential services to those in need in our community.
Schmitz named Parks & Recreation and Facilities Director
David Schmitz has officially been named the Director of Parks & Recreation and Facilities for the City of Bryan, beginning Nov. 29, 2021. Schmitz has been serving as Bryan’s Interim Director of Parks & Recreation and Facilities since July.
Time capsule features more than 50 items
Memories and keepsakes from 2021 will now live on for 50 years, after members of the Bryan City Council buried a time capsule in front of the Bryan Municipal Office Building on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2021.
Celebrating big for 150 years!
The time has come for the City of Bryan to celebrate its 150th Anniversary of Incorporation in person. The City of Bryan’s actual anniversary date is Nov. 29, 2021, but since that falls on Thanksgiving weekend, we’re celebrating all this week!
