
Newly Activated HAWK Signals Increase Safety for Pedestrians on William J. Bryan Parkway
New High-Intensity Activated Crosswalk (HAWK) pedestrian signals are in place on William J. Bryan Parkway, on both sides of Sue Haswell Memorial Park.
A lifeguard shortage has led the Bryan Parks and Recreation Department to modify pool hours to keep patron safety a top priority. The change won’t impact programs or scheduled rentals. Hours will be reassessed if more lifeguards are hired.
On May 22, GovDeals recognized the City of Bryan for surpassing $2 million in sales of surplus assets. The city has been utilizing the GovDeals platform to sell city-owned surplus since 2011 and has successfully sold over 1,400 assets to buyers across the country.
The deed was signed today marking one step closer towards construction on Strategic Armory Corps’ world headquarters, manufacturing, warehouse, distribution facility, and BASE Armalite campus on approximately 204 acres located on Mumford Road.
City of Bryan water customers with a cell phone number listed on their account will be auto-enrolled into a new text-messaging notification system, TextPower, on June 3.
On Monday, May 27, City of Bryan offices will be closed in observance of Memorial Day and will resume normal operating hours on Tuesday, May 28. Garbage, and brush and bulky collections will run as normal.

The Bryan City Council voted unanimously to appoint Tiffany Thomas as presiding judge of Bryan Municipal Court of Record. She will be sworn in on May 1.
Bonham and Tanglewood parks are set to receive new play equipment following the unanimous approval by Bryan City Council on April 9.
