The City of Bryan Police Department is currently accepting applications for entry level and certified Police Officers. The application deadline is Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019.
The City of Bryan Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) will host a regular meeting, which includes two public hearings, on Thursday, March 21, at 6 PM in the Basement Training Room of the Municipal Office Building located at 300 South Texas Avenue in Bryan. During the first hearing, staff will present information regarding grant processes and program priorities for the 2019 Annual Action Plan. The second hearing will include a presentation on Fair Housing and Affirmative Marketing topics. Citizen comments will be accepted during both public hearings.
CDAC and the City’s Community Development Office administer the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME). The City will receive an estimated $823,293 in CDBG funds and $343,707 in HOME funds for the 2019-2020 Program Year. Partnering with local providers, these grants provide funds for eligible activities addressing local needs and priorities. Programs and projects are evaluated and funded in accordance with grant regulations and the city’s current 5-year Consolidated Plan.
The City receives these grants annually to provide technical assistance and/or funding for eligible housing activities, including: minor repair; major rehabilitation/reconstruction; housing development; home buyer assistance; and volunteer demolitions. Funds are also used to provide access to public service agency programs for targeted populations such as: low/moderate income; elderly; homeless; abused children; and victims of domestic violence. Annual allocation of grant and program income funding is approximately $1.2 million per year.
Please plan to attend meeting and provide comments regarding the 2019 Annual Action Plan and Fair Housing and Affirmative Marketing. If unable to attend, you may forward written comments in advance of the meeting to the City of Bryan Community Development Services Department, P.O. Box 1000, Bryan, Texas 77805, or afterwards before 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2019.
