Applications

In order to coordinate various processes required by ordinances adopted by the City of Bryan, the Development Services department must collect the necessary information to initiate and/or finalize certain actions. We have one application called “General Application”. The General Application will be used for platting, rezoning, variance, exception, conditional use permit and site plan.

Permits

The Development Services department issues permits for the sale and/or distribution of goods and information, and the erecting of buildings, signs and other structures. Additionally, because builders and developers often work closely with both Development Services and Engineering Services, we have provided a link to permits distributed by Engineering Services as well. Building Permit and Inspection Fees

Garage Sale Permits

Garage Sale Permits must be obtained in person from the Development Services Department in the Bryan Municipal Building. The fee to obtain a garage sale permit is $3.

The following regulations apply to garage sales in the City of Bryan:

  • A permit must be obtained from the Development Services department in order to conduct a garage sale on the premises of any residence inside the city limits of Bryan
  • Only the owner of the property or a tenant of the owner may conduct a garage sale
  • Only one garage sale may be conduct at the same location every four (4) months.
  • Only used and/or discarded personal property may be offered for sale at a residential garage sale and no garage sale may last more than 72 consecutive hours (3 days)
  • No garage sale may be conducted in a manner that creates a disturbance or become a nuisance in the neighborhood where the sale is being held
  • No garage sale may be conducted on a vacant lot, even with the owners permission
